In this episode, the production of the 2 voltages necessary for the proper functioning of a TFT screen of an LCD television is discussed, namely the voltages VGH and VGL. The circuit used by the DC DC converter to obtain these 2 voltages is called a Dickson charge pump. It is also known by the term of voltage doubler or voltage multiplier.

In this video, is detailed the mode of operation of the boost and the buck converter. These 2 circuits are located in the DC-DC converter of the TCON board. The Boost Converter produces the AVDD voltage. The Buck Converter produces the VDD voltage also known as V Logic.

    It is good information, actually nowadays the Gate Driver not used anymore, the Panel Maker only use Source Driver and the data running to the each pixel parallely

    Hi! This video series are great! I have grapped so much thanks to you! Only thing that is not clear to me is that, where does the CLK input for shift registers come from? I designed tcon boards but only clock we provide to the cell is coming from Level shifters CLK_OUT1 to 10. And their frequency is not that high. They probably only activated the gates so they are for gate driver. But for source driver, I do not provide any clock in UHD resolution, the cells I desined for utilizes ISP and CEDS signals. No clocks. So I wonder where the clock that is for storing the data in DAC regs is coming from?

    Hi. If one single color vertical line is visible on the display all the time, (rest of the image is normal) at maximum brightness, what exactly is the problem? In my case, rouhly in the middly of the screen, there is a 1 pixel wide blue very bright vertical line. Thanks.
